CHATEAU KEFRAYA 📍BEQAA
First of all, the location and landscape of Chateau Kefraya are simply breathtaking and there is no doubt that this is a must-see place.
The vineyards, greenery, and mountains made me feel like I was traveling for a day in Switzerland or Tuscany.
We started with a guided tour of the vineyards. It lasted about 1 hour and 20 minutes and allowed us to discover the wine of Chateau Kefraya, its history, its specialties, and the way it is produced.
We see all the oak barrels that allow Chateau Kefraya to produce 1.5 million bottles per year!
During this tour, you can also taste their red and white wines. This tour is accompanied by an explanation of how to identify if the wine is good, what you can tell from the way it looks/smells, and how to properly taste the wine.
The visit was very interesting! And even though I already knew a lot about wine, I still learned some new things. It's best to make reservations in advance. We then had lunch at their restaurant. Given the potential of this place, the food and service could have been better. But it was still nice. I must admit that the beautiful scenery and delicious wine made the extremely picky guide.lb not care so much about the food.
We had the Comtesse de M (2017) white wine by the bottle. It was floral, fruity, and very tasty. The food menu is too small, but Coq u Vin and Rucola Salad were quite good. The spaghetti with tomato wasn't bad either. The chicken breast dish was too dry. I wanted to have dessert but there was none left.
The restaurant prices are moderate. Great Social distancing in terms of COVID. They are also pet friendly.
💕Overall 8/10
