MAMA JAY 📍ACHRAFIEH
I finally tried this Italian restaurant in Ashrafieh last week. Mamajay is a cozy Italian restaurant in Beirut that serves authentic Italian cuisine. This lovely place offers both indoor and outdoor seating.
The interior is charming but the space is quite small. We sat outside, it's nice but a little too close to the main road, so you'll see and hear a lot of cars.
Why is it always full? Well, it's because of the food. The food is really good and authentic. The appetizers and pasta dishes are excellent, and you can also order pizzas from Manucci's, another restaurant across the street.
With that being said, we tried some dishes like their burrata with parma-ham, and honestly, it was an amazing dish, definitely a must-try! Their beetroot salad with goat cheese was very fresh. We also tried the penne al fromaggi It’s not bad but I wouldn’t order it again, it’s a bit too plain and I think they have better pasta options. The pizza bresaola was out of this world, the crust was baked to perfection!
We paired their succulent food with a glass of Italian red wine It was delicious and smooth.
The service was pleasant and the food came fast.
Overall, it's a place you crave and want to come back to. I will definitely try the other pasta dishes next time. Make sure to have a reservation at least a few days before since the place has limited seats. I highly recommend going there for dinner with friends, or enjoying a date night.
