YA GHEZAYEL 📍MAR MIKHAEL
In the bustling heart of Mar Mikhael, a fresh culinary haven has made its debut, and it goes by the name of Ya Ghezayel! With my fiancé and his family in tow, we ventured to this Lebanese gem for a late lunch, right around 5 PM.
The first thing that struck us was the great space this restaurant oers. It's a pleasant surprise in the heart of this trendy neighborhood. You have a choice to sit indoors, complete with the comfort of air conditioning and walls adorned in lively colors, or opt for the “ al fresco” (open air) experience outside, where fans provide a gentle breeze beside a rustic rock wall.
Speaking of the rock wall, here's a little secret: it conceals a cool cave that's definitely worth a peek.
Now, let's delve into the items we picked from the menu:
Tabbouli ($4.5), Fattouch ($4.5), Hindbeh ($4.5), and Shanklish ($5) - These classics hit the mark and left our taste buds dancing with delight.
Ghezael Salad ($7) - While I'm usually a fan of goat cheese, this particular dish didn't quite meet expectations.
Kabab bel Karaz ($10) and Halloumi bel Karaz ($8) - These hot starters were on point, oering a satisfying burst of flavors.
Shish Barak ($9) - An absolute standout and among the best I've tasted in Lebanon.
Tawouk Red ($10) - A solid choice that didn't disappoint.
Now, let's move on to the sweet finale. The desserts left us with mixed feelings. Of course, for those who enjoy shisha, you'll find it readily available here.

So, when's the best time to pay Ya Ghezayel a visit? It's ideal for a lunch or dinner outing with friends, and don't forget, they also serve breakfast.
Keep in mind, they're open from 9 AM to 2 AM.
For an average of $20 to $25 per person.
Overall, it's a commendable choice if you're craving Lebanese cuisine in this vibrant area. While some dishes truly shine, others might benefit from a little extra sparkle. The pleasant prices, however, make it an enticing option that's worth exploring.
