If you're looking for delicious Lebanese food in the wild at affordable prices, this restaurant is a place to visit.
I really loved the food! All the ingredients are from their village, the vegetables are very fresh, the chicken is extremely tender and they also make their own cheese and arak. I especially loved the tabbouleh, wings, tawouk, ballad cheese, hummus, and batata harra. I don't usually drink arak, but I decided to try their homemade arak, it was extremely smooth and really tasty.
You can also walk around and see the house where they make the arak, or see their chickens. The waiter who served us was very friendly. The food arrived very quickly.
The prices are beyond affordable, especially for the great food you get. The portions were very big.
There is also an Ecolodge where you can spend the night, but I didn't find it very attractive.
Now here is the MAIN REASON why you should visit this place. It belongs to an NGO called Arcenciel whose goal is to help people in need and to preserve nature. So, the money you pay in this restaurant goes back to the NGO, so you can help people in need.
Overall, I really enjoyed the slow atmosphere and the setting. There were not many people, so it was a very relaxing lunch in nature with tasty Lebanese food. An experience I had been waiting for a long time!
I really recommend going there with friends or family. It could also be fun for couples! If you are driving to Taanayel, don't forget to visit the beautiful Taanayel Lake and Park.
