ALBERGO 📍 MONOT
Albergo is located in a quiet and peaceful area, a 10-minute walk from the trendy Gemmayzeh Street, in the Achrafieh neighborhood of Beirut. I've reviewed Albergo terrace before, but this time we didn't just come for a drink... we had a romantic dinner.
You can choose to sit on the rooftop with the pool, or on the smaller rooftop, one floor below. When we went to Albergo, I chose to sit on the smaller rooftop because it has a cozier atmosphere and honestly the chairs are more comfortable. Upstairs, the chairs are hard and metallic, and there are also seats inside. The overall atmosphere of the place is truly charming and extremely romantic!
I love that not only do you get to see a nice view, but you are also surrounded by a lot of greenery and the lighting is done so nicely, creating a very charming ambiance. I also really liked the music, it was romantic yet lively at the same time, and for me, it was the perfect combination.
The service is quite alright, but for the price you pay there... the waiters do not add water or wine for you, you actually have to serve yourself once your cup is empty.
You will find Italian food from Vitello Tonatto to pasta and from meat the fish. The food is very high quality and tasty and the portions are large!
We tried several items from the menu and when I saw they had the burrata, I had to try it and I wasn’t disappointed! You have no idea how much I missed eating a good burrata since nowadays it is hard to find it here in Lebanon. But it was really good and super fresh. We also loved the salad with grilled vegetables. For the main dishes, I had the seabass, which I found really delicious and they are actually very generous with their portions. I absolutely loved the sides that come with the mouthwatering fish, such as potatoes, cherry tomatoes, and olives. My fiancé Majid had the Australian fillet, and he thought It wasn’t bad but tasted too ordinary. The price is definitely not justified!
For the drinks the prices per glass are very expensive, so the bottle makes more sense. We had Ksara reserve red wine bottle, it was a really good bottle of wine.
Overall, we honestly really enjoyed this romantic dinner experience at Albergo, the atmosphere, the food, and the view, it was just perfectly splendid. I recommend going there for a romantic dinner, or to celebrate special occasions; and if you are a true food lover, you can go and enjoy a dinner with your family or friends.
