LE GARGOTIER 📍BRUMMANA
If you're already in the mood for winter and are looking for a cozy restaurant not far from Beirut offering tasty French cuisine, then I have the perfect place for you.
This restaurant has been open for over 50 years and yet many people have never visited or even heard of it. The people of Brummana know the place well and often come here for dinner.
You can choose to sit inside the restaurant, which has an old-style, fireplace and mountain atmosphere, or on the terrace. Their menu mainly focuses on French food, and we tried several dishes. We first ordered the iceberg Salad with roquefort sauce. Great starter option if you love blue cheese! We then went for snails, not the best snails I ever tried, but pretty good. We also tried the onion soup tasty soup, but with a bit too much cheese, it does not allow you to fully taste the onion. For the main courses, we had pepper steak and l’entrecote steak.
Good steaks, excellent for the price, good portions, but not extraordinary. We paired the delicious food with a succulent red wine bottle from B-QA, it was really great!
Overall, this is a nice restaurant if you are planning to visit Brummana and feel like trying a winter place. The food is quite good and the atmosphere is warm. The service is a bit grumpy, as the staff has been working there for 50 years and would rather see their regular customers than new ones. But it is still worth a try. I recommend going there for a date night or a family dinner.
