DITTO 📍GEMMAYZE
Last night we had a date at one of Germmayze's new restaurants. Ditto restaurant has a very charming interior and, in the evening, with the dimmed lights, the atmosphere becomes even more romantic. The restaurant also has a covered terrace in winter.
We got a seat at the bar and it was actually quite entertaining, as you can watch as the beautiful cocktails are prepared in front of you. The marble bar table provides enough space for you to dive into your dishes.
They mainly focus on Mediterranean dishes, and we tried a few of the dishes from their menu. We started off by having the green Salad fresh mixed greens topped with hazelnut vinaigrette, I absolutely loved it and especially the sauce. Then we had the beetroot carpaccio which was alright. The bottarga pizzette was good, but personally, I am not the biggest fan of the bottarga. We then ordered the risotto saffron which was extremely delicious, saffron is one of my favorites. We then ordered the High-quality Wagyu beef tartare, it was delicious, but the portion should have been larger. They serve it with French fries on the side. The last thing we ordered was the wagyu burger, it was super juicy and rich in flavor, maybe a bit too greasy for me, but it was really good. For dessert, we had Crepes with orange confit, I just loved it.
Honestly, it was really delicious. We enjoyed our dinner with a bottle of red wine from Bordeaux. It was very good, and I was impressed that they have a very professional wine waiter to recommend the wines. We also tried a couple of their Marinate negroni cocktails; really good, and definitely a must-try.
Starting on Thursday and continuing throughout the weekend, a DJ plays upbeat tunes. The atmosphere of the place is very lively and the room was full on Thursday when we went there.
Overall, we had a good time and enjoyed the food, some dishes will make you want to try them again, and others are too simple. And yes, the place is a bit expensive… So, I definitely recommend making reservations at Ditto. I recommend going there for lunch with friends, for a date night, or any type of celebration!
