KAHWET SANFEREIN 📍 JOUNIEH
Located at the Monte Casino Hotel, this traditional Lebanese restaurant offers tasty dishes and breathtaking views of the mountains and the sea. Upon arrival, the place welcomes you with its colorful and traditional decor. You can sit inside with a view of the sea or outside on the terrace by the pool with a view of the mountains. The pool is only accessible after 5 pm for meals, as before that, hotel guests use the pool.
We chose to sit outside, I didn't like the inside much to be honest, as it felt more like a shisha place than a restaurant (although inside there is air conditioning) while outside it was extremely hot and humid, and there were no fans. But we enjoyed dining with a great view.
Their menu mainly focuses on Lebanese food, and so we tried several dishes.
Fattoush Falafel (56,000LL) It was pretty good, as it had a special sauce, but I think it’s too pricey for a salad. Warak Enab (44,000LL) Very big portion, extremely fresh and juicy; a must-try. Armenian Mante (80,000LL) So good. Ragheb (51,000LL) it was alright. Grilled cheese rolls (67,000LL) 🔥🔥🔥 I love those a lot! Farouj (150,000LL) It was really delicious, juicy, and rich in flavor.
These ones I didn’t like that much were the tabbouleh (47,000LL) It lacked richness in flavor and hummus (35,000LL) was not good at all…
For dessert, we ordered the Ashta Brownies ( 49,000LL) It was not bad, shisha (65,000LL) was alright, and they served Turkish coffee, I loved it.
Now, the downside of the place, the bathroom could be a little neater.The menu is only in Arabic (I think they should add an English section if they intend to host tourists). The restaurant plays traditional Arabic music in the background. I know many people in Lebanon would really appreciate this kind of music, but for me, honestly, it was a bit out of place with the rooftop location.
In my opinion, this type of restaurant is a bit unusual for a boutique hotel. Nonetheless, we liked the food at Kahweit Sanferein and would go back.
Service was good too.
