KUN RESTAURANT 📍DOWNTOWN
Are you looking for good Lebanese food in a fancy area but with a very cool vibe? Then I think Kun is the place for you. This restaurant popped in up downtown last year, and for some reason, I kept avoiding it. But one day I was walking by and saw that their terrace was pet friendly. Since then, it's become our go-to place when we want to have a quiet, delicious dinner with Iris.
You can sit inside with a contemporary design or outside on the terrace that has heaters during winter time. I usually prefer to sit outside as inside the lights are a bit too bright, so for me, it doesn’t feel as cozy. Kun presents culinary heritage.
We tried several dishes from their menu! As starters, we ordered the grilled cheese rolls, and honestly, one of the best I have ever tried in Lebanon, the cheese was so good! You can never fully enjoy a Lebanese lunch or dinner without these two, so of course we ordered tabbouleh & fattoush, both were fresh and juicy. Their hummus with diced beef was supper yummy, unlike the batata harra which was a bit dry. We also ordered warak enab, it was alright but I didn’t really like it. Their tawouk with fries was extremely juicy and flavorful. I highly recommend ordering the roasted chicken, it is honestly a must-try!
For dessert, we had Foret Noire cake and it was a big no for me, I did not like it at all… We tried their tea and coffee too! The teapot is so my style! Why SO big and why SO pretty! *Read it with uncle Roger’s voice, if you know, you know…
The only annoying thing is when you order a big water bottle, they don’t leave it on the table for some reason, they hide it somewhere and then forget to pour it for you.
Their service is pleasant and attentive. I recommend going for lunch with family on a Sunday or just for a chill dinner with friends. Their terrace is pet friendly and fie arguilleh, am I becoming Lebanese much?
