MARIOLINO 📍 BATROUN
Located in the old town of Batroun, Mariolino is a unique Italian restaurant in Villa Paradiso. This restaurant has all the romantic vibes you might be looking for!
The atmosphere is absolutely magical and you feel like you are teleported to an old Italian town for the evening. And the special touch of the whole atmosphere is the projection of an old movie on the old building.
Although it is an Italian restaurant, the menu is a bit limited. I think it's worth mentioning that there are no kinds of pasta or entrees. The focus is on wooden pizzas, salads, and grilled meats.
We started with the octopus salad which is truly the best in town! It's really a must-try!
They are very generous with their portions. The servings for the entrees are really huge! I wish I had known the portion sizes ahead of time, otherwise, we wouldn't have ordered two salads for the appetizers, because we also had a beet salad. One salad for 2 people is more than enough.
For the main course, we tried Pizza Diavola. It was a delicious pizza. But there was very little pepperoni for the price. However, my dog tried to steal at least one slice of the pizza.
We also tried the grilled cuttlefish with grilled vegetables. I liked it. But some people might find it too simple as there is no sauce. The grill menu changes almost every day, depending on the catch of the day. The prices are a bit higher than I expected.
We had a bottle of wine. All the wines are from Batrouni vineyards. But a lot of my followers said they also have great cocktails. I will try it next time.
The service was professional and pleasant.
Overall, I think it's an excellent place for a romantic date. Great atmosphere, beautiful decor, charming old town vibes, tasty food, nice drinks, and pleasant service. The restaurant is also kid-friendly and there is even a playground!
