MEAT THE FISH ON THE BEACH 📍BATROUN
Meat the Fish is known for its unique concept. They serve a menu of Mediterranean and Asian dishes which also include seasonal produce, local products, and a wide range of exclusive ingredients specially selected for their market. The menu changes daily and is adapted to the seasons, so you can never expect the same thing twice.
The restaurant originally existed only in Saifi, but has now opened a summer location in Marea, just minutes from the heart of Batroun.
First of all, I have to mention that the location and the project are very cool, elegant, and minimalist; exactly the way I like it. They have beautiful villas and apartments, although I'm not sure they rent; and on the beach side, you'll find the restaurant. You can sit at the bar, on the outdoor terrace, or inside with air conditioning.
Honestly, I was super excited to use the pool when we arrived, but apparently, only Marea residents can use it. But on a good note, you can swim in the sea and the sandy beach there is also very nice, although the entrance to the sea is a bit rocky.
We spent a nice Sunday there with our friends, we stayed at the bar and had some cocktails while enjoying the summer sun. Their drinks were super good and summerish. We then had lunch and from the menu, we tried a variety of their dishes, and I personally loved the food. My all-time favorite is their avocado toast, you can also add salmon to elevate its taste but you will be charged for any add-ons. Although it is pricey for only 2 pieces, the black cod taco was out of this world! It was buttery, soft, rich in flavor, and extremely mouthwatering. We also tried the salmon tartare and it was very fresh. One of our favorite items on the menu is the market salad as well, it was super fresh, full of greens, and topped with glazed soya sauce.
On another note, the fish sticks and the happy burgers were average there. Personally, I found the food there extremely fresh and flavorful, and all their ingredients are of the highest quality.
The prices are generally too high and they don’t serve big water bottles. The service was nice and the staff was friendly too! Meat the fish is kids friendly and pet-friendly outside! We caught the mesmerizing sunset and enjoyed the summer breeze of Batroun.
I recommend going for lunch with friends and family or enjoying a sunset drink by the bar.
