KAI BEACH 📍THOUM
Remember that beach club I wanted to visit that didn't have towels, and I complained about it in my articles? Well, they now have towels, so I went to check it out.... It turns out that Kai is actually one of the most beautiful beach clubs in the Batroun area. The setting, the surrounding nature and the view of the sea are just incredible.
You can choose a bed by the pool or by the sea. We chose the seaside, the turquoise color of the sea charmed us from the beginning, the water was very nice and clean but there is a very rocky entrance.
We went there on a Thursday and it was quite quiet. There is a food truck in Kai that offers salads and sandwiches. But we ate at Merchak aal Baher which is also located there, if you feel like seafood and fish you should go there between two sunbathing sessions at Kai (better book a table in advance).
we tried several dishes from the menu. The raw sea bream was very fresh. Beetroot salad and tabbouleh both were good. Marinated squid, has a very interesting taste! but expensive. The lobster was really delicious and the accompanying sauce is perfect too. The shrimp was very good! Grilled Merchak Combo The mussels were nothing special, the octopus was delicious, the shrimp excellent, the calamari not so great.
Overall, a good price for a great seafood combo. The grilled fish was a bit too dry, for the price of such a fish you expect something tastier.
They also serve shisha. The service is nice during the week, but very slow on weekends.
Overall, the beach club is nice, you feel like you have traveled to the Maldives. The Merchak restaurant offers delicious dishes and others are very average and overpriced. Merchak is around 45$ per person and they have card payment available with 25% extra charges
Kai entrance: Weekdays 8$/Weekend 12$
Beach access only: 3,5$ !!
I found their entrance prices very reasonable for what they offer.
