Let's start by saying that this restaurant has been open since the 1880s and that it is already the fifth generation that runs this family restaurant. And you know what? The food is as delicious as ever. Located in Berdawni Zahle, the restaurant offers great seats by the river. We went there for a family lunch on Tuesday, it was not too crowded so the service was extremely fast.
We were 8 people, so we ordered a lot of food! First, we were served hot bread made by the lady at the bread station. It was super hot and delicious. But you can only get this bread before 5 pm because after that the lady leaves. We started by having tabbouleh, it was so good and fresh. Hummus is one of the best hummus in Lebanon! Moutabal and got labne were really tasty as well. The frakeh was really flavorful. Grilled meat skewers were absolute fire, super tender, and juicy. Honestly, their hindbeh, french fries, kebbe naye, and wings were not that good.
On the other hand, I am always sad to see how the Lebanese ruin the beautiful nature of the country. The Berdawni River is unfortunately not as clean as it should be. It contains tons of garbage!
If I were the owner of the restaurant located in this area, I would already organize a cleanup of this garbage! Why not make your customers' experience even better. I recommend going there for lunch or dinner with family.
