KARAZ GUESTHOUSE 📍EHDEN
Last week we had a much-needed getaway! Located in the middle of Al Midan square, the central and most lively district of Ehden. Karaz guesthouse dates 200 years back. You will sleep in a newly renovated Lebanese house that has retained the authenticity of true Lebanese hospitality.
The guesthouse offers accommodation and some breakfast snacks, but you will be surrounded by many restaurants there. Most of the rooms are very comfortable and have 2 floors, exactly like how lofts are designed! Very homey atmosphere, a very comfortable interior in all the rooms, and especially in the lobby with the high ceiling and the notes of wood and marble.
We stayed in the largest room, called midan, and had a view of the city with all the restaurants. The rooms were very clean and well-maintained. In addition to our stay, we had the pleasure of meeting the family that owns the guesthouse, who seemed extremely friendly and hospitable. The guesthouse does not offer food or breakfast. But, there are many cafes in the area that offer breakfast.
Here are some things you should know before you visit:
-The streets of al-median are very narrow, so you have to be careful going there and parking. I didn't expect this and scratched the car.
-During the weekend, it's best to only stay at this guesthouse if you plan to stay up until late.
-In the summer, Al-Midan Square is very lively and you can hear loud music coming from the nearby bars until 3 a.m. But the owners of the guesthouse warned us, so we knew what to expect.
Ehden is a perfect place if you want to explore nature, go hiking, eat delicious food, and take a break from city life. You will definitely fall in love with the area.
Therefore, if you are looking for an authentic Lebanese guesthouse where you will feel at home, Karaz is the place to be. I recommend spending a chill time with friends or family there; or enjoying a romantic couples’ getaway. It is pet-friendly, which is rare to find in Ehden & that’s exactly why I chose to stay there!
