ODOM RETREAT 📍 PLATEAU DE BAKISH
Overlooking the city, Odom Retreat is located 2.2 km from Qanat Bakish. This getaway is absolutely unique. All five domes offer fascinating views. The interior is extremely elegant, comfortable, and romantic. It is truly the perfect getaway during winter, the rooms are heated inside and have a fireplace. Our stay was during the snowstorm and we had to stay inside longer than expected.
We were able to go to the restaurant, but it was quite an adventure to get to the restaurant and back to the dome through the snowy mountains. They brought us food in the room as well during the storm, which was much appreciated.
The breakfast is included in the room price and for lunch/dinner you can order room service as well or have it in the restaurant. We tried several dishes from the menu, like mushroom soup with truffle oil which was really good. I personally love truffle and this soup made our hearts warm during the storm. We also ordered chicken on the rock with thyme, the chicken was very juicy and seasoned to perfection. My absolute favorite was the Mongolian salmon steak! It was extremely flavorful. Spinach & Artichoke gratin was not bad, as well as the truffle fries. Another dish we tried was the grilled beef medallion, the meat is just alright, but the herb sauce was really nice.
For dessert, we got the chocolate tart and unfortunately, I didn’t like it, it was too dry…
The service was very good. Some employees are more professional and kind than others. On the 3rd day of our stay, we asked to have the sheets changed. They said they did but I know they didn't because they had the same little wine stain as the first night. In the end, we were charged for the night we were unintentionally stranded because the roads were covered in snow, but with a discount.
Overall, the place is magical and the snowstorm was an amazing experience that we will never forget! Pets are not allowed in the domes. I recommend going there to celebrate your honeymoon, anniversary, or birthday. You can also just enjoy it for a getaway!
