SUSHI ON THE ROOF 📍BATROUN
Ladies and gentlemen, we now have another restaurant to visit in Batroun; this time it's a sushi experience on the roof! @sushi.on.the.roof is a restaurant located in the Breathe Hotel in the old town of Batroun.
The rooftop terrace is very cozy but doesn't offer much of a view. I like the pastel décor with white as the dominant color, which gives a very nice summer feel.
We ordered a number of dishes from the menu. First, we tried the whitefish tacos, which I personally enjoyed. The marinated salmon was fresh, but I didn't like the sauce it was drenched in as much. We also tried tuna usuzukuri and it was good. The baked blue crab was super fresh, covered in a tangy sauce, and rich in flavor, but a tad overpriced in my opinion. If you like soba noodles, seafood noodles should be at the top of your list, they were light and delicious. We tried 4 different types of rolls, each with 5 pieces. My parents loved the special tuna but I would give it a 7.5/10. Geisha was my personal favorite; the salmon was fresh and extremely delicious. And if you are a crispy lover, the crazy shrimp crispy roll is definitely for you! You should not miss the California roll!
They were very generous with their portions and the prices were just right.
For dessert, we had mochi (2 pieces) good portion but the mochi was only average. It's their only dessert. Nathalie, the waitress serving us, was very nice and helpful.
One of the negative things can be the music for us, it felt a bit off, they played the Weekend and Maroon 5 and it didn't fit the mood of the place that much and was actually a bit distracting from enjoying the food.
In my opinion, just having house music in the background would match the location and the place.
For the tea, there are only normal tea bags. I think it's nice to drink real Japanese tea like Sencha or Jasmine with sushi.
Overall it’s a nice experience if you are staying in Batroun and want to have a sushi night. I recommend going there for dinner with friends, and family or enjoying a date night!
