AMELIA đź“Ť MAR MIKHAEL
Looking for an experience filled with mystery, discovery & adventure? I’ve got the perfect place for you! Amelia is a beautiful winter lounge for dinner and drinks hidden in the busy street of Mar Mikhael.
We visited the place on a Sunday night and it was full, I would even say too crowded. The place seems spacious at first because of its very high ceilings, but once it's full, it becomes uncomfortable because the tables are extremely close together and space is limited… Their menu basically focuses on Japanese and Peruvian cuisine and they also offer a flavor for every taste, a culinary journey like no other with all its ground-breaking originality, experimentation & innovation.
Whilst we were there, we ordered a couple of their dishes, the black pasta with truffle and mushrooms, it was not bad but it lacked flavor, it wasn’t extraordinary like its name. we also got shrimp halloumi rolls which were very average for the price. What I liked the most was the black Truffle Flammkuchen pizza, it was tasty and good to share with others, you can actually taste the truffle which elevates this dish. For dessert, we had the Chocolate soufflé which was a bit too sweet for me! We also sipped some drinks with the food, we had Tanqueray gin tonic by the glass.
The overall atmosphere of the place was not as pleasant for me. I felt like people were looking at each other from head to toe rather than enjoying their time. The service was also disappointing for a place like this, I expected something more attentive. The waiters took forever to notice our table, while they were more attentive to the neighboring tables, perhaps because they were regular customers.
The music that night was nothing special either, the people weren't dancing it wasn’t super lively.
Overall, the place is very beautiful and I think it is worth visiting at least once! But yes… my personal experience was very average or maybe it’s just not my type of place, I don’t know! Maybe I expected an unforgettable experience as it’s fully booked every day!!
I visited it 2 years ago for the first time and found it more enjoyable back then. I recommend going there for dinner or drinks with your friends. For an average of 40$ per person. P.S. Forgive me for my honesty.
