KALEI 📍HAMRA
This hidden coffeeshop is an ideal place for someone looking to escape busy streets of Beirut while savoring Lebanese architecture of the old yet renovated traditional house with vintage as well as modern spirit. Kalei Coffeeshop has two locations - Hamra & Mar Mikhael and is a great place to hide from the busy streets of Beirut. Once you enter the Hamra branch you will get captivated by the setting of a beautiful Lebanese house; with a lovely space inside, an authentic interior, and an amazing outdoor area. Kalei’s mission is to provide top-quality coffee & let me tell you that they do not fail to amaze you as soon as you have a sip, their flavorful coffee will touch your soul!
When we went there, we decided to sit in the garden area. The setting and the atmosphere here are quite charming and friendly. You might feel like staying in this quiet garden for a long time, where you can enjoy reading, studying, working, or meeting with a friend. Keep in mind that the menu is quite limited. We didn't try much food, but we did have a fruit salad which was good. We also had the Americano, it was alright. I loved that their garden is spacious and there is good social distancing.
The service could have been better it was very slow. But since we were not in a hurry, it did not bother us too much. The WI-FI was not working during our visit, although there was electricity. But I guess that's a common problem these days. I used to go to their Mar Mikhael branch, but after the explosion, I hesitate to do so! I recommend going there to work, study, or for just a chill outing.
