LA FUENTE DE SAN MIGUEL 📍MAR MIKHAEL
Located in the heart of Mar Mikhael, La Fuente De San Miguel is the definition of a hidden gem. But it's not until you have a taste of their delicious Latin American bites that you'll be hooked. We arrived at around 6:30 pm on a Wednesday evening and as soon I stumbled upon this Beirut spot, I fell in love with their intimate garden and amazing vibes.
With Latino music playing in the background and the extravagant Fuente centering the area, the place felt so authentic. It’s like I’ve been tele-transported to Mexico-city and had to order some margaritas & bites. I really recommend ordering the frozen margarita, mine came in an authentic cup which was around (7$).
The ambiance was extremely chill, with music constantly playing in the background. In the evening, the vibes changed when the DJ started playing commercial music which failed to match the authenticity of the place. He was playing American popular songs, while I think Latino music would be more suitable with the cuisine and atmosphere of the place.
Some of the items we tried from the menu, Chips & guac, super tasty crispy homemade chips, served with mouthwatering guacamole (6$). The Nachos came with melting cheese on top and we loooved it (8$). Enchilada de pollo is oven baked tortillas with chicken and I personally think it’s just alright (9$). We also ordered the Mix beef shrimp fajita which was really flavorful (20$) although, I, myself preferred the beef over shrimp; which was a tad overpriced.
Tres Hamurgesa, not the best burgers in town (10$) but considering its price, its pretty good! Ensalada Azteca with shrimps had just the good amount of greens (12$) but didn’t like the shrimp in this item as well. For dessert, we tried the Tiramisu, which I do not recommend (7$) and Fondant au chocolat which was not bad (5$). They should definitely enhance their postre!! & the pricing was around 40$/person.
Overall, the hidden garden element and the distinctive ambiance of the place makes this amazing resto-bar a must try. Although, it lacks a bit of authenticity and the bathroom needs some renovation. I suggest you go have a drink and some bites after work with friends, or on a chill date night.
