REMOMERO ๐Ÿ“ SAIFI (CLOSED)

I've been to Saifi so many times and didn't know about this wonderful restaurant that serves authentic homemade Italian food. Once there, you are greeted by an extremely charming Italian family. The woman is the chef and she prepares the Italian dishes with so much love and passion!

Since there was no menu, the chef described the dishes she could serve us that day. All ingredients are extremely fresh and purchased daily, nothing is frozen! Some products come from Italy, others from Lebanon.

I agree, I already love this place!

For the appetizer, we chose local mushrooms with Italian scamorza cheese. It was delicious, I absolutely loved this smoked cheese, and bruschetta with tomatoes. I loved their homemade bread. For the main courses, we had homemade pumpkin gnocchi, no sauce, just oil, and a little cheese. But they were extremely soft and delicious. Tagliatelli with truffles and mushrooms, no cream, just oil, and butter. I liked it; it was very light. But the truffle was not fresh, of course.

For dessert, we had ice cream with Madagascar vanilla, olive oil, orange, and zaatar. It was absolutely unforgettable.

I'm sure many people would find the food too simple, or tasteless, as I know many are used to restaurant food with too many sauces, salt, butter, and sugar. For me, the food was excellent. I don't really like sauces and they don't use any at all. I think if a restaurant can present "almost naked" dishes, it means that the ingredients are of the highest quality.

The menu is extremely limited. Next time, I will order one more dish to be fuller. If there are a lot of customers, the service can be slow. There is only the husband and wife serving you. The place is a little too quiet, with no music.

Covid's precautions could have been taken a little more seriously.

Personally, I enjoyed my dinner. The restaurant is also an art gallery, where you can admire Syrian and Italian painters. I recommend going there for a date night or dinner with friends.
