TAWLET AMMIQ 📍 BEQAA
I did a review of Tawlet Ammiq last summer and it was one of the reviews that kicked off my page, because at the time a lot of people didn't know about this place.
This year I came back to see if it was still amazing. And yes, it is, I mean the view is still worth the walk. Tawlet Ammiq is an eco-friendly restaurant located in the Bekaa Valley. It is one of the most beautiful and my personal favorite places in Lebanon for lunch. It has one of the most breathtaking views and the location is just exceptional. The concept supports small farmers and producers and the culture of sustainable agriculture.
They have a buffet on weekends, where women/chefs from the region offer the best of their land and traditions. The buffet has a fixed price per person, it includes a variety of delicious and authentic Lebanese homemade dishes, a dessert station, soft drinks, Arak, and beer. They also offer Ammiq reserve wine - it’s an extra charge, but it’s a must-try also.
We tried several items from their delicious menu. We ordered fattoush, Tabouleh and Loubieh Bzet, all were very delicious and fresh for starters! We then also tried the raw meat was pretty good, but not the best. Unfortunately, the warak Enab was too dry, I prefer it when it is juicer and rich in flavor.
For the main course, I had my Favourite Molokhia. It was delicious, don’t forget to add the vinegar!!
The desserts were really awesome too! I really loved Tawlet Amiq’s special Halawet el jiben only it was with fresh mango and strawberry inside not with ashta and Aiysh Saraya.
If you're looking to escape reality and teleport yourself to an absolutely wonderful atmosphere with beautiful views of the Ammiq Valley and traditional Lebanese food, then this is your place.
Overall, some of the dishes were really tasty and some were average. For couples who want to relax and enjoy their time, keep in mind that there may be a lot of children running around. I should also mention that the service this year was much faster and more attentive than last year. This restaurant is a great place for a family lunch and is very kid friendly. There is a playground and activities for the kids.
